Spiritus Malum (Academy Drawing)

This is my drawing for the art academy awards and I did a skull with some bits of it melting and as well as some red dripping aspects, which could be thought as blood if one wishes to see it as so. The name 'spiritus malum' is Latin for 'the bad spirit'. The skull melting is supposedly to represent 'melting with sin' or something along the lines of that. It was inspired by a band I frequently listen to, Ghost B.C., and the song they did 'Infestissumam'. Intentionally I was going to colour the background of the skull black but I was lacking of black ink and left it be; I might actually colour it in if I get the chance.

Face of the Sun

At first, I struggled at what I should do for this metal tooling project until judging from the bronze colour and black ink that would be later incorporated, I felt that a sun would look nicely on this as some tribal aspect. Originally, I was going to put a figure of Buddha in the front (similar to a previous drawing called 'The Pinnacle') to add a more spiritual theme.

Nocturnal Me

This is my piece for a Challenging project and I decided to do skulls overlapping one another and at the points of intersections would be a 3D effect. Unfortunately I am not finish but it is almost complete as of now. The medium I chose to do was prisma marker. I wanted to have a new and interesting way of shading and lining to make the artwork more attractive to the way. This style was inspired by one of the few favourite artists I follow on Instagram (bbbrycewong-- forewarning, their artwork may or may not be rather mature for some). I also decided to draw skulls since I have a particular interest in them since the shape and structure of it all is intriguing.
The title of this, also, was inspired by a song I listen to frequently called 'Nocturnal Me' by Ghost B.C..

The Pinnacle [Re-Uploaded]

For my dream board, I wanted to draw something that represents serenity and clarity. As a Buddhist, I aim to achieve eternal happiness, to fully understand the aspects of life and people along with their intentions, and to simply reach the pinnacle of Nirvana. I do not exactly have any desires to change anything yet I will simply just go with the flow and continue with that flow, however fortuitous or unfortunate it is. This is of course not finished, but behind my character I intended to add splits of a sun and the moon, simply in black and white. To iterate, I want to try to be able to connect with the universe and what it has to offer, and in return, I give it my patience and understanding. In addition, the mouth is intended to be missing since I would like to begin speaking less as I find that often times, when silent, your mind understands more.

Between Two Points

This is a scratchboard drawing and the concept of this was of 'the birds and the bees'. The two hands, one reaching for a feather while the other reaches for a flower, both simply symbolising the feather of a bird and the flower in which a bee pollinates, are intended to show a meaning of an 'open hand to life'. The name, "Between Two Points", just shows the thin line of perhaps life 'before and after'. The concept I was aiming for is difficult to explain.
